Our Partners and Allies

GNDR

GNDR is the largest international network of civil society organizations collaborating to strengthen the resilience of communities most at risk of disasters. The network comprises over 1900 members drawn from 129 countries across the globe.

Council of Governors

The Council of Governors (CoG) plays a pivotal role in Kenya's climate governance by bridging national policies and county-level implementation. Through its participation in the National Climate Change Council, the CoG ensures that county perspectives are integrated into national strategies like the National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP), promoting cohesive climate governance. It has been instrumental in establishing County Climate Change Funds (CCCFs), enabling counties to finance locally prioritized climate projects, thereby enhancing adaptation and mitigation efforts.

TINADA Youth Action Africa

TINADA is a youth led organization with over 20 years’ experience working with and supporting young people. TINADA was founded and registered initially in 2001 as a Youth Group under Ministry of Social Services & later re-registered in 2014 as Community-Based Organization in Kenya. The organization initiates, grows, and sustains, upscale community resilience-building programs to enhance the wellbeing of vulnerable young people.

Platform on Disaster Displacement

Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) was formed as a follow up to the Nansen Initiative at the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit. It aims to support States and other stakeholders strengthen the protection of people displaced across borders in the context of disasters and the adverse effects of climate change, and to prevent or reduce disaster displacement risks. PDD is currently Chaired by Kenya supported by the Republic of Costa Rica as the Vice Chair.

Government of Kenya

The role of government in disaster risk reduction (DRR) is far-reaching. As the custodian of national policy and planning, the government plays the important role of creating an enabling environment that supports resilience building. Ministries like Environment, Forestry and Climate Change help address climate-induced hazards by, among other things, promoting sustainable land use, reforestation, and climate-smart agriculture to reduce vulnerability and enhance adaptive capacity. EcoRising Alliance is proud to work with the Government of Kenya to drive nationwide sustainability initiatives.

Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe

The Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (Diakonie Emergency Aid) is the humanitarian assistance agency of the Protestant Churches in Germany. The organization supports people who have fallen victims to natural disasters, war and forced displacement. It also assists those unable to recover from shocks without any form of external assistance. Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe is committed to supporting people in need in forgotten crises that receive little to no public attention.

Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is Switzerland’s international cooperation agency within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). In operating with other federal offices concerned, SDC is responsible for the overall coordination of development activities and cooperation with Eastern Europe, as well as for the humanitarian aid delivered by the Swiss Confederation.

International Organization for Migration

IOM supports communities affected by or at risk of displacement whether caused to climate change, environmental degradation, conflict or instability. Through partnerships with civil society and other stakeholders, IOM Kenya addresses migration-related challenges and empowers migrants, refugees, and vulnerable communities.
